With deference to the genius of David Bowie, here’s Space Oddity, recorded on Station. A last glimpse of the World.

Huge thanks in the making of the video to the talented trio of Emm Gryner, Joe Corcoran and Andrew Tidby, plus Evan Hadfield and all at the CSA.

Look, if you don’t want to see an astronaut, in space, floating around, with the voice of an angel, singing Space Oddity, you’re probably an orc or something.

The Cheapest Generation: Why Aren’t Millennials Buying Cars or Houses?

What if Millennials’ aversion to car-buying isn’t a temporary side effect of the recession, but part of a permanent generational shift in tastes and spending habits? It’s a question that applies not only to cars, but to several other traditional categories of big spending—most notably, housing. And its answer has large implications for the future shape of the economy—and for the speed of recovery.

It’s safe to say that a decent number of Tumblr users are a part of the Millennial generation. So, tell us: Do you own a car or house? If not, why?

it’s because we have no money and no opportunity you stupid fucking assholes

Well, I was reading again through “Bending the Willow” and read in the afterword, that this Show - the Granada Show - might will be forgotten, and I just made this “Business Cards” and I will leave them everywhere I go.
Like the sub or shopping center. Just place it somewhere and maybe someone will see it and will be curious.
I don’t know. It is not a big thing (rather quick creation in a break), and probably 99% will not care. I just had the feeling, that I wanted to do more.
This show is to great and Jeremy Brett’s performance to wonderful to forget about it.

What a nifty idea! I’ll have to slip a few of these into some copies of the books next time I’m at the bookshop.
I remain cautiously optimistic that this series will never truly fade away. Granted it’s over 30 years old but look at the renewed interest the Guy Ritchie films as well as the BBC and CBS series’ have sparked in the Sherlock Holmes community. I doubt anyone involved in the production then could have imagined such a renaissance occurring now. Certainly they never would have anticipated entire websites or blogs devoted to the series and actors.
Nevertheless this is a genuinely good idea. Perhaps we could do something similar to the BBC Sherlock fandom’s
#ibelieveinsherlockmovement to bring about more awareness.
Thoughts?

That is a very cool idea! So we would need a name for the movement.
#RememberGranadaHolmes, something like that? I am not good at this right now. Anyone an idea? Send an ask!
Oh I really would like this, when we could do this together.

"I suspect it’s difficult for men to imagine a world in which their bodies have long been inextricably linked to their value as an individual, and that no matter how encouraging your parents were or how many positive female role models you had or how self-confident you feel, there is an ever-present pressure that creeps in from all sides, whispering in your ear that you are your body and your body defines you. A world where, from the time of pubescence on, you can feel the constant and palpable weight of the male gaze, and not just from your male peers but from teachers and sports coaches and the fathers of the children you baby-sit, people you’re supposed to respect and trust and look up to, and that first realization that you are being looked at in that way is the beginning of a self-consciousness that you will be unable to shake for the rest of your life.Even if they are never verbalized, the rules of bodily conduct for females become clear early on: when school administrators reprimand you for the inch of midriff that shows when you lift your hands straight in the air or youth group leaders tell you that the sight of your unintentional cleavage is what causes godly young men to fall, you learn that your body is dangerous and shameful and that it’s your responsibility to cloister it in a way that is acceptable to everyone else. You learn that your body is a topic of public debate that everyone is entitled to weigh in on, from a male classmate telling you that those jeans make your ass look huge to the male-dominated United States Congress dictating the parameters that rape must fall within to be considered legitimate. To be a woman, and to live life in a woman’s body, is to be held to a set of comically paradoxical standards that make you constantly second-guess yourself and jump through a million hoops in pursuit of an impossible perfection."

Stop Catcalling Me  (via albinwonderland)

This is a fantastically clear and salient account of extremely confusing experiences which I have never been able to accurately verbalise. Amazing.

How do we help our daughters! I hate thinking she will feel this one day.

Super Silky Summer Legs
Next time you are feeling down, about to binge, going on a date, or just need to pamper yourself, do this. I just did it and I can not stop rubbing my legs together. It feels like I paid for that over expensive pedicure at the salon.
Ingredients
1 1/4 C Sugar (Yup, plain, good-ol’ white sugar)
1/2 C Oil (I used olive oil, but you can use any oil, coconut oil, baby oil, canola oil)
3 tablespoons Citrus (Lime or lemon)
1-2 Razors
Mix everything together in a bowl.
Soak your legs in the tub for 5 minutes.
Shave your legs.
Rub some of this mixture all over your legs. The sugar will help rub off all dirt and dead skin. Rub, rub. Feels like a mini massage.
Rinse it all off, shave again. I would use one razor per leg if you have two. You will be rinsing this razor a lot. I was GROSSED out by the amount of dead skin I was “shaving” off. It was insane! Trust me, you’ll see.
Rub your legs again! Second coat of wax, oh yeah.
Rinse off! You can use a mild soap to help get some of the oil off.
Lotion your legs up, and feel the silkiness!
Now this isn’t just geared to ladies…. guys, if you want to get lucky, I suggest you offer to rub your ladies’ feet with this mix too. It feels awesome, and when you get lucky, you will be thanking me that her rough grandma feet aren’t cutting your legs, if ya know what I’m saying… hahaha.
I have silky arm pits too!!
Try it, I swear, You will want everyone to touch your legs.

i just did this and after about 2 or so months of not shaving this is the most incredible thing i have ever done its like my legs arent even legs they’re some sort of ancient fabric made only for powerful pharoahs
i highly suggest this even if you don’t shave use it on your feet or shave your pits or your pubes with it because you will feel like a fucking deity

HOLY SHIT I JUST USED THIS AND???? I FEEL LIKE MY LEGS ARE MADE OF ANGEL WINGS
THIS IS THE BEST THING IF YOU DON’T USE IT YOU’RE CRAZY

I just tried this and it feels so good I want to cry

I’VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS POST FOR LIKE 6 MONTHS THANK YOU TUMBLR

THIS FUCKING RECIPE IS A WONDERFUL THING. USE IT WHEREVER YOU SHAVE.
FACE? LEGS? IDK JUST SMUSH IT AGAINST YOUR SKIN AND REJOICE

so I just tried this and
ohmygoddddd

what?! ok no do not put this on your pubes or anywhere close to your vagina unless you want one hell of a yeast infection

Well, I just did this and my legs feel amazing. I didnt notice necessarily a ton of dead skin, but I feel smooth as feckkkk. Never buying body scrub again.

VIDEO IDEAAAAA

This felt pretty awesome. Dunno if it got rid of the dead skin like it says, but it felt great doing the sugar scrub. Legs are still smooth three days out though. So that’s a thing.
